Innsmouth Free Press reels in

Don't mess with Kali Maa.

I just got word that my short story “Kali Yuga” will be appearing in the upcoming “Multiethnic Issue” of INNSMOUTH FREE PRESS.

IFP is an online publication that features both short fiction inspired by H.P. LOVECRAFT and fictional newspaper reports set in the author’s universe. My story is the former: a classic weird tale [Read it all...]

With 2009 drawing to a close, we naturally have a tendency to look back upon the year that was. We have our favorite genre-related media: books, TV, movies, comics, games and more. We asked around too and got some additional input from Doctor Who Fans Unite’s Crystal Shedrock-Rangel, KiDDandGEEZER’s Frank Zieglar, James Hartz from Film [Read it all...]

When we saw on SF Signal that they were asking for your favorite SF/Fantasy book covers we knew we had to chime in with our picks. But then we realized that some of our favorite SF/F artists also did album covers and we realized we had to go there too. Today we present our picks [Read it all...]

Fifty-Two Stitches ties up rave review

The FIFTY-TWO STITCHES anthology is almost out, and it’s aleady drawn a positive review from HORROR DRIVE-IN. That’s good news, of course, because the book features my story “The Regular.”

This is my second story for a STRANGE PUBLICATIONS anthology, and I’m sure they’ve once again done a fine job. Strange is turning out to [Read it all...]

New short at Fiction at Work

The literary site FICTION AT WORK has selected one of my flash fiction pieces, “Unlike a Horror Movie,” for its weekly Short Shorts feature. It’s more of an existential tale of terror than a conventional horror story. Hope you enjoy it, even if there aren’t any ghosts or ax murders.

“Whatsoever a Man Soweth” takes the Moonlit Path

My tale of fundamentalist fear, ”Whatsoever a Man Soweth,” is now online in the summer issue of Tales from the Moonlit Path.

It was inspired by a nightmare last fall, when it actually looked like Sarah Palin might end up a heartbeat away from the U.S.presidency. I racked up 16 rejection letters before I finally found [Read it all...]

Flashes From the Mouth

Sonar 4 Publications’ newly released FROM THE MOUTH anthology features two of my super-short stories, “A Fine Vintage” and “Loves Me, Loves Me Not.”

And — what do you know – I also penned the introduction to the book, a collection of horror and sf flash fiction, or stories clocking in at fewer than 1,000 words in length.

For those of you keeping [Read it all...]
