Goofa Man Productions sets the Star Trek record straight in the third and latest issue of “3-D Pete’s Star Babe Invasion Comics!”

As always, Star Babe Invasion Comics salutes those gorgeous galactic girls from the groovy movies and TV shows of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s! In this issue, 3-D Pete takes a look at the retro classic, Queen of Outer Space (recently profiled by Scot Cupp as part of our Forgotten Film series), starring Zsa Zsa Gabor! Plus, you’ll find the usual assortment of cool comics and illustrations featuring retro people such as Raquel Welch, Marc Singer and Joi Lansing!

But this third issue of Star Babe Invasion Comics is oh-so-extra-special, it is the savage “prehistoric” issue that focuses on retro Cave Babes! There is a special 3-D Pete commentary on When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth (1970), starring Playboy Playmate of the Year for 1968, Victoria Vetri! The curvaceous playmate appeared in several films and had guest appearances in many TV shows such as Mission: Impossible, Land of the Giants and Batman.

In addition, they have an exclusive interview with Vetri in which she unequivocally sets the record straight about her involvement in the original Star Trek series. Countless web sites report that Vetri had an uncredited role in the episode “Assignment: Earth.” The sites report that she played the human form of Isis, the feline companion of Gary Seven. This beautiful cat-woman is seen for just a few seconds at the end of that episode.

Vetri, currently serving 9 years in a California prison for attempted voluntary manslaughter, emphatically states through a written interview with Goofa Man Productions that she never appeared in any episode of Star Trek.

Sure, some investigative journalists expose graft and corruption at city hall. Others crusade to keep our most vulnerable citizens free from neglect and abuse. Star Babe Invasion Comics just wants people to quit saying that Victoria Vetri played the cat-woman in the “Assignment: Earth” episode of the original Star Trek series.

You’ll find this Star Trek investigative journalism excellence only in Star Babe Invasion Comics, issue three!

“3-D Pete’s Star Babe Invasion Comics!“ is a product of Goofa Man Productions, the one-man animation and graphics studio of Mike Fisher. Mike has created cartoons and illustrations for Animation Magazine, USATODAY, Starlog magazine and many others. The studio also produces award-winning short videos. Most recently, Mike’s documentary, Craft of Unknown Origin, won first place in the short video category at the 2012 International UFO Congress Film Festival.

“3-D Pete’s Star Babe Invasion Comics!“ is a 24-page digest-sized self-published production with a color cover and b&w interior except for a fabulous full-color center spread. To get a copy of issue 3 of Star Babe Invasion Comics, just send $5 to:

Showtime is at 7:30 PM tonight, Wednesday, March 21, 2012. The Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes is at 1255 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX.

Doctor Who Fans Unite, the group sponsoring this event, asked members to choose the episodes for tonight’s screening. Both episodes were originally broadcast on the BBC in June, 2008 and feature David Tennant as the 10th incarnation of the Doctor and Catherine Tate as his companion Donna Noble.

In Midnight the Doctor attempts to enjoy a well-deserved holiday, taking a bus tour on the deadly-but-beautiful planet Midnight. When the bus stalls and the passengers hear knocking coming from outside the bus things get very tense. Donna Noble only makes a cursory appearance at the beginning and end of the episode.

In Turn Left a brief encounter with a fortune teller reveals what would have happened if Donna had not met the Doctor. How would Earth handle the Racnoss, the falling Titanic or the Sontarans? With the help of the Doctor’s previous companion, Rose Tyler (Billie Piper), Donna attempts to prevent this alternate time line from happening. This episode is lite on the Doctor, with most of the action centering around Donna Noble.

As always, admission is FREE, but you need to get a ticket from the box office to secure your spot in theater. We hope to see you there!

Mordakai7 looks at the pros and cons of paying for a game and then paying additional for in-games options and add-ons.

Guild Wars 2 is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that features the standard trappings of such games but also claimes to have a storyline that is responsive to player actions. While this is a common feature of single-player role-playing games, it is new in MMORPGs.

The host of San Antonio’s only cable access horror movie series is looking for your votes for the 2012 Rondo Awards. E. Spanto, who we interviewed in October 2010, sent out the request this week. While the emaciated emcee is not officially on the ballot, you can write him in and show your love for his show, Bloodshot Theatre, now in its eighth year.

Here is the lowdown from E. Spanto (the ghost of J.R. Ghul, Bloodshot Theatre‘s original founder and the former singer of the heavy metal band Tortured Skull) himself:

Yes with this annual event you, the horror fan, are allowed to vote in your favourite horror-themed catagories of the past year. HORROR! yes HORROR! ALL HORROR! for the horror fan that you are! There are quite a few catagories/nominees you can choose from and you don’t have to place a vote in all the catagories. Which leads us to the selection of your favourite horror host, Bloodshot Theatre’s E. SPANTO! Although, he isn’t a selection, you can type it in on the official ballot form under catagory 21, Favourite Horror Host.

Head over to the Rondo Awards site, download the ballot, fill it out and email it to taraco@aol.com. Pay close attention to category 21, ignore those other chumps and write in E. Spanto. Voting ends April 1st, 2012, at midnight (naturally).

Check after the jump for a sampling of Spanto’s talents…

This is part one of the Bloodshot Theatre Horror Showcase for February, 2012. Check out the next five installments on the Bloodshot Theatre YouTube channel.

Bloodshot Theatre scares every Thursday and Saturday night at 12:30 on Time Warner digital PATV channel 20 featuring classic and cryptic cuts of horror from the 70s-80s.

WHO (bottom) could be possible contenders in the Best Dramatic Presentation categories. George R. R. Martin fans and Dr. Who fans may have a major impact on who wins this year's Hugo Awards.

Cast your vote for the 2012 Hugo Awards and help decide this year’s winners, recognizing the best in science fiction and fantasy. In order to nominate for this year’s Hugo Award winners, you must register as either a supporting member or attending member of this year’s World Science Fiction Convention by January 31st — this Tuesday! Chicago will be the site of this year’s convention (AKA “The 2012 Worldcon” or “Chicon 7″), and in 2013, it will be San Antonio’s turn to be the host city for this major event.

By registering as a member of the 2012 Worldcon in Chicago, you’re eligible to nominate AND vote for this year’s Hugos. These are two separate processes. The Hugo Awards nomination deadline is Sunday, March 11, 2012, 23:59 PDT. Once the nominations list is announced, the final voting occurs, and the winners are decided. Your vote can decide who is nominated and who wins!

Advice to all San Antonians and Texans interested in voting in the Hugos, but who do not intend to attend the Worldcon in Chicago:

1. Register as a supporting member of the 2012 Chicago Worldcon. The cost is only $50. The supporting membership allows you full Hugo Awards voting rights this year and is less expensive than an attending membership. If you register by this Tuesday, January 31st, you are able to submit nominations AND vote on the final 2012 Hugo ballot. However, if you miss the Tuesday deadline, you can still pay $50 and vote on the final ballot, but you forfeit the ability to nominate. Therefore, registering by this Tuesday is the best value for your $50.

2. Don’t forget to also register for the 2013 Worldcon in San Antonio (AKA “LoneStarCon 3″). It’s not necessary to register for LoneStarCon 3 by this Tuesday, but do bear in mind that membership fees escalate as the con approaches.

The Hugo Awards are the premier award in the science fiction genre, honoring literature, art, and media as well as the genre’s fans. The Hugo Awards were first presented at the 1953 World Science Fiction Convention in Philadelphia (Philcon II), and they have continued to honor science fiction and fantasy notables for nearly 60 years.
