- Doctor Who – The End of the World
Tonight is Doctor Who Appreciation Night at the Alamo Drafthouse Westlakes. You can join Doctor Who Fans Unite, Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor and his companion Rose through a screening of The End of The World and The Long Game.
In The End of the World, The Doctor takes his new companion Rose (Billie Piper) on her first voyage through time, to the year five billion. On board an orbiting platform they join an alien delgation to watch the death throes of Earth’s sun. Unfortunately, one of the guests is plotting something sinister. This was the second episode of the Doctor Who series that was reborn in 2005.
The Long Game, the seventh episode of the new series, also features the Doctor and Rose travelling to an orbiting space station, this time in the year 200,000. The satellite broadcasts to the Earth Empire, but any employee promoted to Floor 500 is never seen again, and the Doctor suspects mankind is being manipulated. This episode features Simon Pegg as the editor.
