Internationally acclaimed multimedia artist Kelly Richardson will be speaking about her art at the University of the Incarnate Word in an event sponsored by the San Antonio ACM SIGGRAPH Professonal Chapter. Richardson’s works appear in the permanent collections of the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C. and the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, as well as beening shown at the Sundance Film Festival. Elle magazine Canada has included Kelly Richardson in their 2011 Hot 100 list, saying “Photographer and videographer Kelly Richardson dreams up landscapes that have a fantastically surreal bent.”
This talk on February 17th, 2011 at 7:30PM is free and open to the public. Head over to UIW’s Joyce Building (the building next to the clock tower) and look for room JB 126. Come out and meet this very talented multi-media innovator.
Kelly Richardson’s amazing installations are currently being featured at Artpace San Antonio where she was recently welcomed as one of the International Artists-in-residence during the months of January-March. The residency will support the production of new work to be exhibited at Artpace from March 24-May 22, 2011.
Two of Kelly Richardson’s videos have been selected to be shown at the Sundance Film Festival. “Exiles of the Shattered Star” and “Twilight Avenger” have been selected to represent 5 years of New Frontiers, an exhibition which explores the latest in cinematic innovation and transmedia storytelling. Both works were originally included in New Frontiers 2009; this year, they will exhibit in An Artist at the Table, a special event which will kick-off the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
