All this month you can check out Bloodshot Theatre’s Halloween Show featuring the 1961 film The Mask. This Canadian horror film was innovative in its use of 3D for the surreal mask sequences where the voiceover would implore viewers to “put the mask on, NOW!” as a cue to don their 3D glasses.
Bloodshot Theatre, hosted by eeerie neighborhood skullman E. Spanto, is a throwback to some of San Antonio’s fondly remembered horror showcases like Project Terror and Screaming Meemies. E. Spanto, apparently the ghost of J.R. Ghul, presents Bloodshot Theatre every Thursday and Saturday at 12:30 am on Time Warner Digital PATV channel 20.
Here’s a taste of what you will find, the opening montage is worth the price of admission. Tune in this week…if you’re not too scared.
