Today marks the one-year anniversary since we started Missions Unknown. We have certainly had fun making the site over the past year…seeing the cool genre-related stuff going on in and around San Antonio. We’ve talked books, film, music, comics, web comics, art and lots more.
Our most popular post over the past year was Sanford Allen’s interview with Hyperbubble. Currently on a European tour with songs like Better Set Your Phasers to Stun, UFO Beach Party and Moogzilla vs Korgatron, people just can’t seem to get enough of San Antonio’s technopop wonder twins. A close second in the popularity contest was our take on the ACLU Texas report about banned books in Texas, which also generated the most comments on a single post. We read a lot and take it personally when Texas lives down to its reputation of a backward and close-minded state.
We have also published numerous interviews with creators working in and around San Antonio including Joe McKinney, David Liss, Eugene Fischer, Jason Limon, Bryan Ortiz and James Hartz, Gordon Wise, Scott A. Cupp, Mike Fisher, Carlos Pina, Alfonso Emiliano, Lea Hernandez, Eric Fonseca, Jamie Lynn Blaschke, Frank Zieglar, Jonathan Joss and Damien Broderick. We’ve interviewed guests from out of town like POLYSICS, Mike Esparza and Hank Schwaeble. We’ve also spotlighted some of those active in the community helping you get your geek on like Rene Guzman, Dave Henkin, Aaron Delwiche, John Minton, Crystal Shedrock-Rangel, Marcella Muncy, Jason Perez and more.
What about you? What have you liked that we’ve done? what would you like to see more of? What could disappear and not be missed? Let us know what you think.
Thanks to all who have contributed to the site and spread the word. Keep those tips coming.

Congrats on the one year mark! As prolific as you guys have been in that year, somehow I’d forgotten that it hadn’t been around for a longer time. Here’s to many more!
Congrats!
