The cover to Doc Savage ""Brand of The Werewolf was painted by Mort Kunstler, not James Bama.

This really was a great post. The Freas, Moorcock, and Doc Savage covers are my favorites.

Yeah, Larry, there's a lot of Burroughs covers I considered, but chose this one because I remember especially picking it up as a kid. Had to be the first one I ever saw.

There's a great Conan I considered, too, the one with the giant snake between his legs. But the Doc Savage covers were already a little too homoerotic for my comfort level...

Excellent post, this one and the one on SFSignal (disclaimer: I am listed as an SFSignal Irregular, but I think that refers to body parts).

The Doc Savage Bama covers and the Michael Whelan ERB and Moorcock covers all stand the test of time. A lot of the ERB covers could be on these lists, including the ones done by Gino D'Achille (the Ballatine Book from the 60's and 70's of the Barsoom series) and the Frank Frazetta covers as well.

I saw on The Cimmerian that the "Conan the Conqueror" painting just sold to a private collector for $1 Million!
