This is the 4th episode in my series on sf, fantasy and horror with San Antonio ties.
Now this is just too fricken cool. On October 28, 1940, Orson Welles and H.G .Wells appeared together on San Antonio’s KTSA radio, of all places. Listen as Wells tosses Welles a question that ends up being a nice Citizen Kane plug.
Courtesy of Austin SF writer Chris Roberson’s blog. I believe he found it on the Cynical C. Enjoy.

Excellent! What a coup that must have been for KTSA at the time. If they still had this kind of programming I would actually make an attempt to listen. It’s really too bad they feel the need to be the right-wing alternative to the other right-wing radio. I can’t imagine there is anything they play today that people will want to hear in sixty years.
I totally agree Paul!!!
Fricken cool indeed! Anybody know what the hell these two were doing in SA?
The announcer mentions that H.G. Wells was in town to address the United States Brewer’s Association (that was probably a fun party). Orson Welles was in SA for a “town hall forum address”.
