ASIMOV'S SCIENCE FICTION / August 2009
San Antonio resident and multi-Ditmar award-winning author Damien Broderick has a new story published in the August issue of ASIMOV’S, available now. “The Qualia Engine” is a full-length original novelette, and is featured along with new stories by Michael Blumlein, Derek Zumsteg, Robert Reed, Steven Popkes, Mary Robinette Kowal, and Kristine Kathryn Rusch. Broderick is the author of several new books including UNCLE BONES, I’M DYING HERE, and QUIPU.

Congrats, Damien! Can’t wait to read it.
Thanks, Joe. I feel a bit embarrassed by this abundance of name-drops, but last year I did have a sustained burst of short fiction writing, and luckily placed all the stories–five of them with ASIMOV’S. Meanwhile, Warren Lapine’s new imprint Fantastic Books is doing two collections of my short work, and bringing out a number of revised editions of my novels. So I guess my name will be popping up here again every few months for a while… I can’t complain about that, of course.
Cheers, Damien
