SA Express-News Spotlights Lansdale

Joe O’Connell wrote a solid piece about legendary Texas author Joe R. Lansdale in Sunday’s San Antonio Express-News. The University of Texas Press recently published a collection of some of Lansdale’s best stories, SANCTIFIED AND CHICKEN-FRIED, which features a foreword by Bill Crider. From the publisher’s website: “In this collection of gothic tales that explore the dark and sometimes darkly humorous side of life and death, you’ll meet traveling preachers with sinister agendas, towns lost to time, teenagers out for a good time who get more than they bargain for, and gangsters and strange goings-on at the end of the world.” This Tuesday, Lansdale’s latest Hap & Leonard book, VANILLA RIDE, releases everywhere. Nice to see the SA Express-News run author features like this one — hopefully they’ll do more of these with sf/f/h authors in future.
