I know this entry is old but I've been playing catchup ever since I learned about this blog a little over a year ago. I going to have to get a copy of Thirteen days and They Died with Their Skirts On. If you're ever on the westside of town check Natalie's on Cupples road a block inside of highway 90. Good eats, good atmosphere and good service. Just across the street, catty corner-ish is the Superior Bakery, a great Mexican Bakery.

Great interview, John. Scott, you have a very unique voice and I've yet to read a story of yours that could have been written by anyone other than you.

Mark - I tend to like Chuy's. There is even one in SA, just not close. The chicken fajita burrito with Queso. Yum. See you at ArmadilloCon??

Becky, Becky, Becky - Mark's comment about Chuy's made me remember the trip to Casa Bonita with Bob W and friends. I do miss those long ago days. When will you and Jeff be traveling to San Antonio?

Even without the name drop, this was a really nice production from start to finish. Great photos, good questions, thoughtful responses. Would that we could get more stuff like this under peoples' noses.
And Scott, if it's true that you can't get good Mexican food North of San Antonio, then it stands that the more north you go, the less Mexican you get. I never thought I'd miss Chuy's, for Pete's sake, but here I am...
